Ford L-Series/Louisville. |

Does it really look like the hexagonal grille of the Louisville / L-Series? It seems to be more V-shaped... or a square one, when only considering the left part of the truck. ![]() ![]() -- Last edit: 2015-06-09 18:49:41 |

Yes. In fact, even though it`s blurry, i can read: "FORD" over the hexagonal grille. |

Be honest and say you want to guess Ford here ![]() Nothing can really be read, and it could also be Mack as well as any make name with 4 letters (which are not numerous, I admit it ![]() And the picture must have a serious ratio problem if that grille is the hexagonal one of a Ford truck, which should be vertically symmetrical... |

"Nosed" Mack in 1974 w/a V -shaped grille and no divided wind screen? No, i admit that the picture is of low quality, but i think you`re gettin` fooled by the light hitting the cab. I say Ford L-Series/Louisville. -- Last edit: 2015-06-10 20:20:06 |

I didn't say it is a Mack, just that it could be anything. The subtitle says "In America...", but from what can be seen, and due to the origin of the movie, it could be a footage made in Japan too, or anywhere in the world. So I thing that beside your great desire to "read" Ford in what is nothing more than 4 black spots (1) on the top of the grille of a twisted truck in a really blurry picture, nothing here can help us to accurately identify this vehicle. To be honest, it's just a background vehicle shown in a picture with really poor quality, so I think that it should be put in comments of the main page with our comments. _____ 1: By the way, 4 spots on the top of the grille, or 5? If 5, a Dodge? What other makes are possible? ![]() -- Last edit: 2015-06-11 05:38:37 |

It also says: "Mississippi". Maybe that`s a little more specific. As in the flood of 1973. Floods we do have in Norway, but no rivers named "Mississippi"... Still, i say Ford L-Series/Louisville. |

On what purpose? It proves very little thing. |

![]() Indeed, there was flood by the mouth of Mississippi river: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mississippi_flood_of_1973 -- Last edit: 2015-06-11 17:29:30 |

I don't know who added it, but I like the complement that was given to this truck! ![]() |

Honda? Horch? Buick? Dacia? Edsel? Isuzu? Mazda? Rover? Skoda? Simca? Tempo? Lotus? Lexus? Alvis? Or perhaps Volvo?.... Plenty of 5 letter car names to choose from, right? Your move.... |

None of truckface's possible makes were possible in the USA at the time. And I agree that this is Ford L-Series (a.k.a.; Louisville). That windshield isn't divided. If anything, that's a bracket for trailer cables behind the rear windshield. -- Last edit: 2015-06-12 07:09:23 |
