I've had turds that look better than that; if it had been made by GM and not Ford, it would be better in every way. |

Err, that'd basically be a Cadillac then, wouldn't it? I'd rather have a 60's Continental (perhaps not this specific one, or in this condition) than a Cadillac from the same time period. |

A Cadillac Sedan DeVille from the early or mid sixties would be a whole lot cooler than a Kennedy death car, Hecubus. |

A nice car comparison picture that shows how massive American cars are. |

It's a 1962-1964 Lincoln Continental convertible. The reason that Vaughn drives it is that it's a replica of the car Kennedy was shot in. At one point they show the dash, I think I could nail down the year exactly if I saw a picture of it. EDIT: I read about this model car and there are external differences between all the 1962, 1963 and 1964 years. The 1962 has a floating rectangle grill design, the 1963 has a floating square grill design and the 1964 has a simple square design. The car Vaughn drives in the film has a rectangular design grille so it is 100% certain to be a 1962 model. -- Last edit: 2007-12-24 03:08:57 |

Of course the front sheet metal can easily be swapped between the different years, the genuine Kennedy car was a 1961 with '63 front sheet metal since no way could they replace that car every year... -- Last edit: 2012-08-19 17:49:53 |

It's not a 1964, as Lincoln switched to flat instead of curved side glass in 1964-1965. It looks to me like a 1963 from the grille, which has a lot of little squares. The 1962 had a grille composed of little floating rectangles. |

A small detail: James Spader asks for a black Lincoln '63 in the end of the movie. |

Have to agree with MBL - styling aside, the Cadillac's better in every way. |

They used six Lincolns for filming, the chances of finding all 1963 models was probably pretty remote. |

That Lincoln is a lot smaller than I thought, James Spader is only 5 foot 10. |

I miss my wife.... Crash is one of my favorite movies, and this car and it's connection to Vaughan make it very awesome to me. I always liked weird gay guys like Vaughan |
