Isn't it funny how this one is listed as "Police", yet no other police package LTD Crown Victoria's or 81-82 LTD's and LTD S's are, I'm not saying all 88-91's painted up like a police car are as there are always ways to tell like for example a vinyl roof on an LTD dressed up as a police car or an LTD with too much trim and turbine wheels, I'm simply saying for some reason whenever I say that a box panther is a [P72] even when it's provable no one adds it as a chassis code. Starting in 1981 Ford Full-size Police Package Cars were Identified as [P72] Police Package cars. This was the same until 1992, in 1993 the P71 Interceptor Police Package replaced the [P72] Police Package and in 1997 the [P71] Police Interceptor replaced that. This car would be a 1991 Ford LTD Crown Victoria [P72] Police Package. Here is a proper explanation, 1981-82 a Ford LTD Police Package (yes 4 headlight base model LTD's (not LTD Crown Victoria's or LTD Landau's) were offered as a police package from 1979 to 1982, however in 1979 and 1980 since 17 digit vin numbers didn't exist yet they were Identified as 351 Police Package cars) or 1981-82 Ford LTD S with two headlights would be a [P72] Police Package, from 1983 to 1991 a Ford LTD Crown Victoria police car would be a [P72] Police Package.
