The FE-Schrift font was introduced in 1994. All FE-Schrift plates have a blue strip with the European flag, except for temporary and export plates, and this is neither of those. Only military plates have the German national flag. I think they took a Hamburg (HH) official vehicle plate, and covered the blue strip with a sticker to make it look older. Ingo ◊ 2012-12-17 13:40	tore-40 wrote 1975+ 1200 L or LS ? Yes, a 1200, but with this colour (if original) a later Mexico-Käfer. Could be the 1983 special edition "Aubergine", if not, it's from those years anyways, as this colour was available then.
