Only seen in Ep 4.01 and 4.02. From 4.03 onwards, he got his "old" pre facelift Centruy again. Strange anyway, cause in this episodes, he got a renovated office and from 4.03 onwards, he got his old dump again. And he got a new heat, which is gone by 4.03 as well. And Stavros is missing in that episodes too. Not worth to watch ![]() -- Last edit: 2013-01-14 22:46:51 (G-MANN) |

Thank you for this information, and how bizarre!!! I never watched many episodes of Kojak, but of course the Buick is iconic. The Kojak Buick is so iconic that Corgi modeled THIS '75 one (albeit identified as a Regal), which is obviously more attractive in a metallic bronze rather than a brown color that must have been a "delete" / credit option when you bought the car! But maybe that's one reason Kojak was so successful athis job....people wouldn't notice or perhaps even look away in disgust when they saw a brown Buick coming. The element of surprise! But seriously, thanks for clarifying my curiosity of Kojak's cars. But still, he was driving a '74 through the series end in '78! My guess is that for the sake of continuity using stock footage, it made more sense to stick with the original car and unique color, rather than switch to the newer model with the much more obvious color change. I found this episode "Birthday Party" on youtube (with guest Richard Gere), and its quite engaging. Stavros actually is in both of this episode and the following "A Summer Madness". In the second episode of Season 4, Kojak returns to the streets in the '75 metallic bronze Century as in the previous episode. The difference is that the bronze Century in season 4, episode 1 "Birthday Part" had the "383 NDZ" plates of the brown one, but this has the orange NY plates "605 NXO", at least when he pulls up to the street cafe. Later, the car does have the "383 NDZ" plates. But you couldn't freeze frame in 1976, so who would notice the continuity error? Regardless, I am glad I that my fascination with the old A-bodies Colonade models along with this site got me hooked on Kojak! Great seeing New York in 1970s (even if it was "pre-cleanup", and it looks better than I expected), the classic cars certainly, the interesting plots, as well as some of New York finest theatre actors as guests. -- Last edit: 2023-09-29 03:14:17 |
