It's older than a 1997... more like 1991. The grill is divided in 3. In newer GMC's the grill is one solid piece. |

No older than a 1992 model. Remember, GM kept the old rounded-line 1-tons around until 1991. 1991 was the last model year for them. Then these new 1-ton trucks took over. The all-new Suburban and 2-door Blazer also debuted for 1992. |

Actually, GM only kept the crew cab versions of their heavy duty trucks on the older design for 1988-1991. Like the Suburban, they were called the R/V series. So this truck above can be as old as a 1988. Here's a good article on Edmunds.com: http://www.edmunds.com/gmc/sierra1500/history.html |
