Next to Reo it was also produced by Studebaker, Studebaker-Packard, Curtis Wright, Kaiser Jeep, General Products Division AMC, AM General and (possibly) White. The brand name AM General only started in 1971, therefore I am not sure if Army surplus vehicles of that brand were avaliable in 1997. By far more interesing is the vehicle on the left: a CONDEC M561 'Gama Goat'. Alexander wrote Any better image available?
