The RX-4 did not have a piston engine equivilent in the US.

Agree. I don't think the 616 was ever sold in the USA, so it has to be an RX-2 (extremely rare nowadays).

The RX-2 and RX-3 had piston engine versions sold in the US (616/808), but they sold about 4 rotary engined-cars for each piston engined-car. The RX-4 did not have a piston engine equivilent in the US.
