Actually it's a 1982 Fairmot Futura. 1978-1981 Fairmonts had single high/low beam units and Futura Coupes had the four-eyes. It wasn't until 1982 that all Fairmonts added the Futura nameplate as well as the four-eyes. |

It's not Ford Fairmont Futura, it's just the Ford Fairmont. These are all the police package version of the Fairmont, and since they were available from 1978-1983, the headlights changed along with it's civilian counterpart. |

It is a Futura. They renamed them all when they for the four-eyes in '82. http://stuartscustoms.freeyellow.com/adverts/AD82Futura4dr.jpg -- Last edit: 2007-02-05 06:15:39 |

I thought the four eyed Fairmont's became popular on all models in 1981 |

Does anyone notice that the police cars in this film have the same exact livery as those that appear in Batman Returns (also a Tim Burton film)? |

No, the base Fairmont models continued with the dual headlights in 1981. |

You just disproved your point...The brochure you linked shows a Fairmont with quad lights.... In 1981, to increase parts commonality, all Fairmonts were switched to the four-headlight fascia |

Yes, if you actually took the time to review every page in that very brochure, you would find on page 7 and page 11 that the base Fairmont models, had two headlights. That year the Futura line was expanded to all body-styles as well. Page 7, a 2-door sedan: Link to "oldcarbrochures.org" Page 11, a base wagon: Link to "oldcarbrochures.org" |

Yeah, so what makes it a 1982. You have no evidence to make it a 1982. On this website we always do FIRST YEAR POSSIBLE! First year possible is 1981. |
