I just checked, and the grille pieces of the '72's are a little too thin for this one. Unfortunatley, I'm going to have to go with 1976 1/2 to 1977. And I thought the only year we were going to count out was the '72. |

these aren't my strongest suit... but i think it must be 1975 or older. the 1976+ trucks have a chrome "box" in each quadrant of the grille that makes the + appear to be triple strips, unless i'm just mistaken. which. is. possible. |

I suspect the Old Car Brochures website might have more details, but this is what I'm getting from my copy of "Pickup & Van Spotter's Guide; 1945-1992," by Tad Burness; 1)1972-73; Thin grille with a "box" in each quadrant of the grille that makes the + appear to be triple strips, and the "Courier" insignia over the driver's side headlight. 2)1973 1/2-75; Split-chrome vertical grille with thinner + pieces on each side of the grille, with the "Ford" insignia on the hood over the grille. 3)1976; Similar to the previous model, but with bumper guards. 4)1976 1/2-77; The chrome quadrant grille, as seen above. 5)1977 1/2; Complete redesign with the split-horizontal grille bar, directional signals in the bumper and the tiny "Ford" insignia near the driver's side headlight. 6)1978-82; Same as above, but with quad directional signals next to the headlights rather than in the bumper.
