Could it be American Lafrance or Stutz? -- Last edit: 2011-04-07 20:48:35 |

Too small to be one of those I think. This could be any one of several makes of the circa 1908-12 period that used the Mercedes-inspired radiator shape. One example was Velie. On this page - http://theoldmotor.com/?attachment_id=12879 - you will find a Chadwick and a Velie racer but notice that they are big cars and the radiator is much higher than the wheels. The car in this picture is much smaller - probably only about 20 or 30hp. -- Last edit: 2011-04-08 06:59:07 |

No. Up to the mid-30ies there was not a real system with RHD and LHD. Many companies in right-traffic-countries like France, Germany and Italy have built RHD-cars. |

And some Italian cities had left hand traffic until the 1930s. |

Most American cars were made with right hand drive version until 1914 where they switch the steering wheels to left hand drive. Prominent American vehicles were Cadillac, Buick, Oldsmobile. Chevrolet and Ford started with left hand drive right from the start AFAIK. |

I think this is a made for movie car based on the 1905 Locomobile Vanderbilt Cup car. Ford had the Model K racer at this time and Locomobile No 16 from 1906 is in the Henrty Ford Museum |
