Can just about see the fuel cap on the side, so not an SSII (US models had the fuel cap on the left c-pillar) Had to delete a lot of superfluous thumbnails ![]() |

The twin coachlines indicate Silver Wraith II. Can we see the rear windscreen? -- Last edit: 2020-09-16 18:25:28 |

Agree - round door mirror, no front spoiler. So SS1 of some sort. |

Look at the rear windscreen in the interior view. Thumb 3, the distance between the edge of the glass and the inside corner behind that bloke's head indicates that this car is likely a Wraith, not a Shadow, upon which the rear windscreen extends close to the c-pillar. -- Last edit: 2020-09-16 19:37:07 |

It's a weird one. It's got opening quarterlights (so a very early one) but sidemarkers, bumper, ventless front end and wheels from a later one. Wondering if it's been modernised a bit? French plate is a bit random too, maybe a French car modernised when it was exported to the US? |

April 74 flared arch. Would 74-75 SS1 LWB with US bumpers work?? |
◊ 2020-09-16 20:42 |
It's definitely a LWB but like I said above I think the front wings might be unoriginal to the car (it's those or the doors which are from an early car) so arches wouldn't be trustworthy for identification purposes. Just me or does the driver side wing in the last thumb not match (there doesn't look to be a sidemarker)? |

Interior of Shadow. Compare with thumb 3. https://www.atouchofclassic.co.uk/rolls-royce-silver-shadow/ Wraith II. https://www.classicdriver.com/en/car/rolls-royce/silver-wraith-ii/1977/704841 -- Last edit: 2020-09-16 21:20:48 |

Found this: https://www.rrsilvershadow.com/EGall/ERRLWB1967LRH2542.htm So there was only 10 LWBs old enough to have opening front quarter windows, suggests it's the front doors that have been switched and the wings are original. |

So no comment concerning the apparently Wraith II sized rear windscreen then? |

It applies to earlier LWB cars as well, see for example this LWB from 1969: https://www.rrsilvershadow.com/EGall/ERRLWB1969LRX6712.htm It's not from a Wraith due to the lack of a front spoiler and the fuel filler location etc mentioned above. Still a few things I'm puzzled about on this one (the opening quarterlights, the possible disappearing sidemarker), but best to take it as a US model from towards the end of the first series. |

That may be a good plan. Thank you. |
