Looking at the 1937 Le Mans results on wiki, the biggest car seems to be a Lagonda LG45 with a Meadows 4.5L 6cyl engine driven by Johnny Hindmarsh/Charles Brackenbury - DNF. Any resemblance? |

There are some similar period cars here - http://www.flickr.com/photos/fine-cars/sets/72057594082200864/. All of the Riley Sprite TTs I have found appear to be open wheel cars with cycle fenders - not enclosed like the car in this picture. |
