marklandynut ◊ 2010-06-03 20:32	Its actually a 1981 Stage 1 V8. I remember watching the show and thinking how little these guys knew about Land Rovers and thier owners. The V8 engine sounded rough (hydraulic tappets shouldn't tap) and it smoked, but they ignored that, instead praising the smooth and powerful engine. They then wasted a small fortune converting this dying engine to run on LPG when it really needed rebuilding or replacing first. LPG is popular with Land Rovers, but its only worth fitting to a good engine as it cleans them out internally removing any carbon on the pistons that's keeping the oil from entering the combustion chamber! After the conversion, they fitted the pointless roll over bar and a few other bits of bling before trying to sell it. If I remember right, they didn't do well with the sale.
