It seems has no shoulder & rain drip chrome trim, and grille is wider. I agree 180 and not the 190. 180b/180Db (1959-61) or 180c/180Dc (1961-62) |

Wrong. It is a W121 (190), drip molding or not. It has the wide grille and three little chrome bars at the 'nostrils' beside the grille. The car has been tampered with in 'Mexican' fashion. |

Jun is right. This car is a 180 of modelyears 1960-62. It´s a W120, both 180 and 190 sedans are W120. W121 is only the 190 SL. The wide grille and triple `nostrils´ was identical on both 180 and 190 for these years (1960-61, the 190 got a new body for 1962), none of them had bumperguards as standardequipment. This one lacks the extra chrome trim that the 190 model had. |

On the various sources that I have 190 is W121, for coupé and sedan ![]() e.g.: http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_W120 -- Last edit: 2006-02-23 23:58:28 |

That is correct. I have missed that earlier, these W-codes never stop surprising me. The difference between the two sedans are so minor that it never occurred to me that the 190 and 190 SL could share the same W-number. Obviously they do ![]() |

Yes, it is strange to have a different code for 180 and 190, but keep the same code for the coupé ![]() |
