Lists as 1982 Carbodies Taxi/Hire Car (as usual) but displacement of 2520cc? So not the 2286cc FX4R Did Carbodies start with the old Austin engine for the first few months? |

On this page http://www.aronline.co.uk/blogs/cars/austin/fx4fl2/the-cars-austin-fl2fx4/ it says that by 1982 Carbodies were doing all the manufacturing and marketing of the FX4 yet they still had an Austin badge on the grille and this wasn't replaced by the Carbodies badge until the launch of the new FX4R (with had a new 2286cc engine) after British Leyland finally sold them rights to the FX4. I think the simplest thing to do would be to list all the pre-FX4R models as Austin. -- Last edit: 2014-06-25 18:19:40 |
