I almost forgot about the Mazda 2-rebadged hatch being available here (the U.S.)... the sedan was far more popular, having been available as the Scion iA for one year only (2016), then as the Yaris iA for 2017, and finally, the Yaris Sedan from 2018-2020.

sedan had a similar story here : Scion iA for 2016 , then Yaris ( without iA ) for 2017-2019 , when Toyota axed it

Canada also had more "base" (L) and "upscale" (XLE) trims before we got them... the Scion iA and Toyota Yaris IA both only offered a single trim (which later became the LE trim), and then we later got the L and XLE trims. I don't think anyone ever bought the L trim here, as I've never seen one with steelies and wheel covers on the road... the only difference between the LE and XLE is that the XLE had SofTex (leatherette) seats, while the LE had cloth.
