As the film was presented in 1985, I find it likely to have been filmed in 1984. By that time Volvo had introduced the 740 GLE but not the 740 GL. Or that is what it would have been if the location had been Sweden and many other countries. However, I've heard a reputation that Volvo at the same time introduced the 740 GLT (with a 2 litre engine) in Italy (possibly only in Italy), but I've not seen any verified examples as yet, as the MY 1985 looked much the same. Also the GLT (and later the Turbo) had "black chrome" around the side windows. Therefore I find it more than likely this is a 1984 Volvo 740 GLE (and nothing else). Edit: The 760 was introduced in 1982 and was in production in 1984/1985 as well, but that model had all kinds of extras that the 740 didn't have.
