These were built 1978-1983. I'm not sure if the rear styling of the 1978 models were different from the others but the front styling was. |

New taillight design introduced in 1979 model year... In this case, 1979/83. |

Probably a touch of product placement, or because the Concord wagons listed on this entry page are background vehicles supplised by the company as part of its product placement.....Renault provided the 11 Paris taxi, the Fuego that Jenny Flex and Pan Ho travel to the BP station tailing Sir Godfrey and the silver Rolls Royce, and Stacy's State-government-issued Jeep Cherokee. Its funny how cars I kind of looked down on at the time are now exceptionally cool. AMC was so advanced as I think of the 4 x 4 Eagle wagon version. |

How a car that dates back to a design originating in 1970, having rear wheel drive and a slush pump gearbox can be considered "advanced" beats me. |

Well, it was unique mix of outdated & advanced technology. They had to be clever designing cars with limited budget. And they did: the vehicle with very good passive safety, many creature comforts, praised for its reliability. -- Last edit: 2023-08-17 14:09:44 |
