tore-40 ◊ 2024-10-21 19:15	They did, still as 1979. The last one is claimed to have been a Triple White made January, 10 with chassis # 1592043705. Others claim they ended with # 1592044140 so still a 1979 anyway. From what information can be found, new 1980 emissions were probably the final nail for the US Beetles. That may be the reason why you would struggle to find a 1980 Typ 1 Convertible. In addition, Golf ragtop chassis # also used 15, or 15A for 1980 (before full VINs for 1981)
