agree that gap between wheels matches perfectly Link to "en.wikipedia.org" producer LKZ /vehicle_1692036-LKZ-PT-76.html given the very high armour attrition in Ukraine surprised this museum pieces haven't been deployed yet |

This is 2013 Belarus (the producers thank Belarusian Ministry of Defence in the titles). Based on GlobalSecurity.org report they had 8 left until 1995. Russian Wiki says 1 is preserved in Stalin Line museum in Lashany near Minsk. |

^ since T-55 and BTR-50 have been spotted (and destroyed) PT-76 wouldn't look out of place with those Link to "armyrecognition.com" what's next? T-34 ? -- Last edit: 2024-05-31 19:52:45 |

They had a veteran of the 1956 Hungarian uprising sent and subsequently destroyed in the field: -- Last edit: 2024-05-31 20:18:40 |

Oh, you mean Russians...Well, Ukrainians also do not disdain Maxim gun and the T-55, however, in the form of the Slovenian M-55S. I have read the article and I can tell you that here in Russia war analytics on TV say old tanks are used primarily as artillery pieces for firing at enemy positions from long distances and closed firing positions. Something like "why not using them if we still have them a lot". In general, more tanks are not less tanks. One can be Geralt of Rivia and die from a pitchfork hit. I would not like T-34 muzzle pointed at me. -- Last edit: 2024-06-02 00:34:26 |

on twitter and telegram you get daily videos like this mostly from ukraine side here a Msta-S one second it was there the next it was gone... hit by a relative cheap drone , ditto with tanks and co and Ukraine pulled its Abrams and Challenger 2 tanks from front lines and they don't even seem to ask for tanks anymore for aid !! the age of armored vehicles specially tanks it's coming fast to an end thanks to drone warfare and accurate artillery !! -- Last edit: 2024-05-31 21:15:49 |

Are you sure it is not a fake news? ![]() |

I hadn't seen that photo - thanks. With the desperation of the VSRF for artillery, it's likely and easy to be fooled. |

so if this is the strategy does it matter whether you have Leopard 2 or a bunch of T-55s firing from the forest position |

^ you miss the point if Msta-S or BM-21 GRAD launcher is taken out with drones when they are kilometers behind front line, you really think a T-55 which has to come right near front has any chance ?? even reaching it in the first place |

@Gamer, what "desperation of the VSRF for artillery" you are writing about? consult 2-day ago analysis by Oberst Markus Reisner from Theresian Military Academy, "Das russische Momentum ist zurück": https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gk7D_TliAuE -- Last edit: 2024-06-08 16:04:04 |

I think you need 100 drones to hit 100 T-55 which cost nearly nothing in Russian conditions and only one from Russian side to hit a modern tank which costs a lot. Not to mention that working force in Russia to be used to repair military vehicles is much cheaper than labour of the Western workers. Anyway, I guess Russians attack with not only T-55s and Mosin rifles, so in terms of war economy it is much more effective to use (cheap) domestic weaponry than a bunch of different armored vehicles from over the world, some of them , like FV104 Samaritan being from mid-70s. -- Last edit: 2024-06-01 02:53:00 |
