This scene was the reenactment of the attempted murder of Chris Flannery who was shot at along with his wife and their kids by gunmen outside their house in Turrella, NSW on the afternoon of the 27th January 1985.

It was suspected that the gunmen were members of rival gang led by standover man, Thomas "Tough Tom" Domican as at the time, Flannery was working for Racing Identity, George Freeman as a bodyguard and Domican and his associate and gang boss, Barry McCann wanted take over Freeman's territory.

Domican was charged and convicted of Flannery's attempted murder but the conviction was overturned on appeal.
