dsl ◊ 2023-09-25 17:42	Cropmaster was 1947+, but agree this is a diesel (1949+) because of mushroom top on side pod. Doesn't have the usual Cropmaster 6-spoke rear wheels, which may mean a later version or wheels replaced from something else.

dsl ◊ 2023-09-25 18:25	My tractor picture book has Super Cropmaster as more macho version added in 1950 - looks as if had more enclosed engine panels with distinctive vertical vent louvres. Then it gets confusing - the Cropmaster 50 was launched in Nov 52 with enclosed engine and horizontal louvres on side panel, plus high headlights on stalks. This lasted only until April 53 when the entire DB range was revamped and Cropmaster name disappeared - Cropmaster 50 became just 50C petrol and 50D diesel, but as far as I can tell was unchanged. Original Cropmaster continued almost unchanged as 25C and 25D (poverty version with reduced spec, no horseshoe scuttle/"shield"), and 30C & 30D the normal versions still with horseshoe scuttle/"shield" for a year, but this was removed in 1954. Previous Trackmaster crawlers also renamed into this system in April 53, becoming 30TD and 50 TD.
