Strange plate - AAO 148A listed as blue Austin, 1489 cc, registered Dec 61, untaxed Tax due: 1 February 2001. But A suffix only started in 63, and A55 had been replaced by A60 a few months earlier. My guess is maybe a showroom orphan first registered late in Dec 61, then re-registered with new number in 63 for whatever reason.

As this A55 has solid plate info, merging all the fake plate A55s here (unless they're the black one). Generic date range Jan 59 to Sept 61.

Something odd there: DVLA have the car down as first registered in 1961, which steers one away from thinking it may be a re-registration, and yet my point of reference shows the AAO suffix-series as being "B" and not "A"?

^ Agree - AAO with B was Cumberland, March-April 64, so that's a second quirk. DVLA info for re-regs is often inconsistent - sometimes giving a plausible date for when originally made, or sometimes simply repeating the date it got its "new plate". But picture and 1489cc are 59-61 car.
