Definitely from the 30s, not 1928. |

I do not think it's Saoutchik at all. I've checked all the usual suspects but nothing yet. The radiator style is definitely 1920s, on the other hand. The body matches that of a 1933 Chrysler Imperial Sport Phaeton by LeBaron - so much so, in fact - that I'm willing to say that this is in fact a Chrysler fitted with a Mercedes-Benz grille, bumper and hoses. Unless someone has a different idea. LeBaron did make at least one Town Car body on a Mercedes-Benz chassis, but this is not it. -- Last edit: 2023-08-09 17:13:19 |

I don't think the front fenders would be that broad on M-Bs in 1928. I'm staying with 30s. -- Last edit: 2023-08-09 16:57:47 |

I think so...I haven't really found a matching model, but I'd go for an S or SS type with the exhaust pipes outside the hood... |

It's none of these - I checked. |

I'm leaning towards a W07 serie 770 "grand mercedes", the styling and the running board seem characteristic... Link to "mercedes-benz-publicarchive.com" Link to "www.supercars.net" https://www.conceptcarz.com/gallery/13539/mercedes-benz-770k.aspx |

You mean a "Grosser"? That was my initial thought, but would a Hollywood studio already have one of the biggest and most German expensive cars in the world in 1944? |

ja richtig : "Großer Mercedes" but I can't find any of this variant with a double windscreen, (except some "tourer" modele) ; the 3rd big headlight? It makes me think of a special model for the army or ... a car recomposed for the film ![]() -- Last edit: 2023-08-09 18:36:15 |

Unless someone has a different idea. indeed, I wondered if it wasn't an American car...
