There was many disputes about Lada. And now anyone don't know we have to write "Lada", "VAZ" or "VAZ Lada" and which one for which model. For newer Ladas I think we have to write Lada as brand name and VAZ codename (2108, 2109, 21099 etc. etc.) as chassis number to group all the same models of "Ladas, VAZ Ladas, Vazs, LadasVazIDontKnowWhatCanIAddThereNow's" etc. -- Last edit: 2008-05-29 19:28:36 |

And if we are nitpicker's, we have to decide by every Lada, VAZ..., if the flag has to be a Soviet or a Russian one. |

And when did the VAZ-2101 stop being a Жигули (Zhiguli) and start being a Lada? |

In Western countries it was always and only known as Lada. In the GDR it was different. Usually it was called Lada, but in official language, for example by the police, it was called Shiguli. Isn't VAZ just the name of the plant in Togliattigrad? |

Found on the search for Audi-slogans for walter Headline on cover: "Prove: 124 Russa" in text: "la Shiguli 2101 ("Lada" per i mercati europei)" in: Quattroroute Gennaio 1972 |

Yes, VAZ is a plant name. In eastern countries it's so hard thing with naming. It's like in polish FSO Warszawa or FSO Polonez; FSO was in name but all of us just call Warszawa, Syrena or Polonez... |
