HX 3888 was late 1931. |

My immediate reaction was Ford, but there are two spring ends visible either side of the spare wheel, so think again. Thunk again, no Vauxhall flutes, cross that off. -- Last edit: 2023-02-01 20:29:30 |

That's exactly what I was thinking. Very Ford-like until you get to the front quarter. |

Do you recognise the wheels? |

Unfortunately I'm not that far, but they're not Ford wheels. |

?? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rm4G8fNKJo ?? Austin 12/6 Harley, not convinced, though. No spare wheel luggage carrier, and body looks too square-rigged. -- Last edit: 2023-02-01 20:39:32 |

not specialist but I think it's pretty close the FORD A - tudor 1931 what bothers me are the turn signals on the front fenders... ![]() |

1) It has four doors. 2) It has longitudinal rear road springs. No Ford car of this era had such things, they were transverse. 3) The “turn signals” hadn’t been invented in 1931. They are sidelights. -- Last edit: 2023-02-01 20:58:53 |

Just double checked on Vauxhall. Not a Cadet, the belt line moulding is totally wrong. |

Intrigued by the Morris Major idea - apart from lacking bumpers and spare on back, a lot of details look the same - wires, curved moulding around C-pillars onto boot, overhang above side windows, and general shapes and curves are similar. |

Wheels, David. Morris has very individual centres. Overhang is draught prevention. -- Last edit: 2023-02-01 21:49:25 |

Kitchen cleaned after dinner, now start again. The glass draught excluders above the Morris’ windows are absent on the subject. -- Last edit: 2023-02-01 21:52:08 |

Time to walk the dogs, and I think that’ll do for the day. Sorry, stuffed again. |

MIDDLESEX Kithead Trust https://kitheadtrust.org.uk/ Disposal allocation books for HX, ME, MF, MH, MX and MY (all complete). Would these disposal allocation books list full details of the vehicle? |

No entry for this registration plate. It does say mainly for buses, many of which would have disposals recorded, especially if sold to a lesser operator. When old cars died, they usually just got dragged away to the scrapyard. -- Last edit: 2023-02-02 08:46:21 |
