This is an Atkinson with the Flat Front cab, and from the well-regarded fleet of Tyburn, whose Managing Director Mr le Gosselin, became a non-executive director of ATkinson Lorries (Holdings) Limited in the mid-1960s. The Tyburn business was sold to Powell Duffryn Group at the end of that decade and was later absorbed into Calor Transport. We can't actually see the chassis layout in this photo, but it's a reasonable bet that it's an 8-legger, and which would be L1586, and probably fitted with a Gardner 6LW engine. However, some were built with AEC engines, after the AEC option was introduced to the range during the war, when Gardner engines were required for military purposes. |

^ Thanks for this. I’ll call it an L1586, to clear another unknown. |
