Strange that this is "unknown" given that Oddball's unit of M4A3 Shermans was key to the movie plot and appear throughout most of the movie. This tank is an M4A3 built by FISHER. Originally it was built as a 75mm armed tank. Postwar, they were modified with gun upgrades (to 76mm) and re-designated M4A3E4. These were given to the Yugoslav army and many still survive today. |
