Martin Walter Ltd. was the manufacturer of the Dormobile conversions (later: Dormobile Ltd.) and Hawson's conversions tend to have split windscreens and look like armoured vehicles (Mr. Hawson: "Guys, I need more material for the box vans - go and get all the furniture from the office... Design & style are for children anyway!") The coachwork above looks a) totally British and b) totally un-Italian. If an Italian coachbuilder built it, they would have made him leave the country, I'm afraid. This "Parcel Van" (in Germany: Großraum Kastenwagen) was available via the Ford dealer network, but there's no way Ford would have build them like this (compare with what Mr. Hawson said earlier in this post). Possible Martin Walter Transit Mk1 in our collection - not much help, but chris40 was reliable with his comments. Another, Mk2 entered as "Dormobile by Martin Walter". And a Mk2 as "Dormobile Parcel Van". Finally an unusual A-Series which could do with more info if possible. |

Yeah, I remember chris40 very well!  All the MK2 seem to have wraparound windshields so far, but the earlier MK1 ones by Martin Walter/ Dormobile might have these cornering windows. And then there is also Martin Walser, but I don't think that helps a lot... The A-Series may be a Strachans conversion...  |
