The Series II Morris Ten, 1292cc and Twelve, 1548cc used identical coachwork. Unless you can see the badge on the radiator grille which has lettering about 1/4 inch high, or unless you know the car, you can’t tell the difference. The easicleen wheels and the mock honeycomb grille with chrome surround make this a 1936 model, the earlier model had wire wheels, and the later ones had a painted grille with vertical slats. Earlier two tone cars used a different paint scheme. http://www.simoncars.co.uk/morris/mtwelve.html http://www.simoncars.co.uk/morris/mten23.html I cannot find separate production numbers for the Ten and Twelve, but a little over 59,000 Series II cars were built, the Series III was Ten only, the Twelve had different coachwork. Post note: - The Series III Cars for 1938 were introduced during 37, the Series II Cars during 35, but Morris made progressive design changes throughout the currency of a design under Leonard Lord’s production system. It could be presumed that the easicleen wheels were introduced when the wire wheels ran out, not at a specific model change. -- Last edit: 2018-12-03 10:57:25 |
