This page is for the Mini used by the holidaymaker family (which I'm calling Mini B for its separate role), and which in a series of happy coincidences, keeps cropping up in the same places as the main Mini (Mini A - /vehicle_16149-Mini-1000-ADO20-1979.html ). In reality the 3 Minis provided for film use - New Zealand Motor Corporation donated one car for free and sold the film-makers the other two for NZ$4000 each - keep swapping between the roles which all gets very confusing .... for instance Mini B sometimes has orange sidelights and sometimes white.

00:41:44 - Picton railway crossing; Toyota Corolla on train (which also has Ford Falcons and Escorts - see Falcon page)

01:00:53 - orange lights

01:01:05 - parks up at cafe (where by an amazing coincidence the others have arrived a few minutes earlier in Mini A, which is parked round the back)

01:01:27 - and while the family have their ice cream in the cafe, bits are removed from Mini B to re-equip Mini A - oh what larks! But for some reason they take Mini B's bootlid but it never appears on Mini A (which lost its boot previously) and as this is the last sighting of Mini B, there are no more bootlids in the film. Not really sure why the roofrack disappears, but the ultra-observant might also notice that the dent in the front hubcap has moved round a bit ....

Also to note the slight colour difference between rear wing and door in last 2 thumbs - am not sure yet what this means for interchanging between Mini A and Mini B sightings .....
