I don't recall the Celebrity wagon ever coming with wood panelling. I know the other variations did (Olds Ciera, Buick Century, and Pontiac 6000). The taillights on this car kind of resemble the Pontiac 6000 Safari station wagon so I'm guessing this is the Pontiac rather than the Chevy.

I'm pretty sure this is the Buick Century.

The taillights most resemble those of the Celebrity (as they appear to be divided into three sections), but I don't think I've ever seen a Celebrity with the panelling either.

Not a 6000. 6000 not have an vertical hood emblem "like a mercedes".

Century Wagon for me.

I'm not sure what it is, those are definitely Celebrity taillights, but the wood-trimmed Celebrity (Yes, there have been wood-trimmed Celebrities, I believe that option was called the Celebrity "Estate Wagon".) had darker wood panelling, and neither the Celebrity nor the Pontiac 6000 had a Hood ornament... Whatever it is, its 1986 or later due to the CHMSL.

Looks like it has amber indicator. Probably converted

Agreed. This is a 1986+ Celebrity Estate Wagon.

Again, this is not a 6000. The 6000 Safari had ribbed taillights; this doesn't. These taillights look to be from a Celebrity, albeit with replacement (amber) indicators. Also, the wagon in question clearly has a CHMSL, so 1986+.

It's definitely a Celebrity wagon with those taillights.

Yes, and 1986+ due to CHMSL.

EDIT: The one thing that confuses me, however, is the hood ornament; I can't find any Celebrities with hood ornaments. :??:

Didn't only the Century have the hood ornament? I'm assuming this hood ornament is just a custom one.

Probably a Pontiac 6000 Safari with replacement taillights

:??: Why would Pontiac be any more likely than Buick or Olds? Also, wasn't the Celebrity in my first link a pretty solid match?

Based on the hood ornament, It's probably either a Celebrity with an aftermarket hood ornament, or a Buick Century with replacement taillights. If it were a 600, it would have to have both an aftermarket hood ornament (since the 6000 never had one) AND replacement taillights from a Celebrity, and if that were the case, couldn't it also be an Oldsmobile Cutlass Cruiser?

That dark blue color with that paneling looks more like a Century/Safari. I'm actually leaning towards Buick Century for this one.

So the general consensus is;
Celebrity and Cutlass - dark wood
Century and Safari - light wood

Sorry to over-complicate things, but what about the Celebrity in my first link? It has the lighter wood... :??: Either way, I agree that this one is more likely a Century because of the hood ornament.

I'm not; I just think "unknown" would be a more proper listing for the time being, seeing as Pontiac is no more likely than, say, Buick...

Hood lines and ornament looks like a Buick Century. Then of course the wood. Taillights are Celebrity but if you look closely, the top section looks amber. All 4 makes interchange.

There’s one vehicle that fits all that. One on Curbside Classic in the same color. In Japan they made a Buick Century wagon, and called it a Regal Estate. To meet lighting requirements it had the special taillights, and the little European turn signal repeaters near the joint of the fender and front door. It’s very blurry but it almost looks like you can see one.

This movie was filmed entirely in Australia. And they had A-wagons as grey market imports from Japan.

Would be interesting to see more shots. Another unique thing about the JDM Regal Estate is (unless it was replaced later), the tailpipe exits the back, rather than the standard position of behind the driver side rear tire.

@tlc1976 - Nope, no such cars exist in Australia.
