I remembered the episode. The hijackers were brothers who had hijacked the transporter for the cars the vehicle was transporting for money. One hijacker had distracted the driver of the transporter while the other hijacker hit the driver on the head from behind, fracturing his skull and killing him. They then moved the driver's body to the side of the road and then covered his body with bushes. When the hijackers got the cars back to their barn, they altered the vehicles by putting old tyres on the vehicles and adding dents and scuff marks onto the vehicles to give them the appearance that they were used vehicles. To solve this case, Sergeant Matthews and the Highway Patrol used the mileage on the truck's speedometer when it was found, and the truck's pervious mileage when it left the company with the vehicles it was transporting, and the mud found on the wheels of the transporter's trailer. |
