Not a Silver Cloud III, as the Cloud III had smaller bumperhorns and badge on the trunk reading Silver Cloud III. So it only can be a Silver Cloud I or Silver Cloud II, but I prefer Silver Cloud I for the amber tail lamps. The registration "1 TNK" is not listed in the books for any Silver Cloud, so it will remain a secret whether it is a Cloud I oder Cloud II, but it is clear that it is n-o-t a Silver Cloud III |

#22684 seems to be from the first series as mentioned in my text there as the film appeared in 1959 what must mean that the car is produced the year before or very early in 1959 and so must be a S1. #10074 is a typical "S/SC-type"-case as it cannot be given for sure what it really is (as mentioned there). It is only clear that it is a Rolls-Royce (see the badge on the rear bumper) Silver Cloud... but only a wide-awake could tell whether there is a straigth-six or a V-8 engine under the bonnet ;-). If it would be a Silver Cloud III there would be a neat badge on the lower right hand side at the boot reading "Silver Cloud III". So it it more likely that this is not a Cloud III even as also the bumper overriders are of the old (SCI/SCII) style. You should call it only "Silver Cloud" to be correct |

I checked on the DVLA website and unfortunately 1 TNK has been registered in the UK only on 01 Mar 1978. Presumably it was re-imported at that time after having been exported when new (but that is speculation). The record also says the year of manufacture being 1959. Unfortunately, there is no valid entry in the cc field. So we are still unable to confirm if it is an SI or SII, since in 1959 both versions were manufactured. |
