You can surely tire yourself out over this.

Too new for a Loadstar
Pic of Loadstar http://motoburg.com/images/international-loadstar-1700-05.jpg
Loadstars also did not have wraparound lenses. You can barely see some sort of lens in the pic above

The body is gonna be tough... basically any of them except Carpenter and Wayne

The companies still producing school bus bodies around the time the movie was filmed are AmTran, Blue Bird, Carpenter/Carpenter Crown and Thomas. I see that some filming was also done in Canada, so Corbeil might be a possibility as well..
Wayne, Superior and Crown Supercoach can be discounted..

This is a Dayton wheel, it's an entry level commercial hub for a split rim configuration. They were/are available on all chassis. an upgrade would be a Budd wheel, which are one piece wheels 10 lug wheels, normally tubeless.

Okay, we agree it's a 1967+ GM?

I hate to be a dissenting voice-it may be a GM - but in my gut I do not think it is. Are there any other pics of this bus??

Shall we call this a 1967 GM and be done with it?

Definitely a 1984-1991 GMC or Chevy B-series chassis. I believe the body is a Blue Bird conventional, but it could also be a Wayne. I doubt it's a Thomas.
