I don't think the Rockford files was implied as the 2 stuntmen killed in the Firebird were portraying bad gys running from the cops. The Firebirds were definitely from Rockford Files though. |

You can see that the one that is upside down and explodes is a '73 or so and not the '75 used in the action. |

You can tell its a former Rockford Files stunt car as well because they painted the rear bumper black to mimmick the 1974-75 cars used in the first 2 seasons. Iirc it may even still have an 853 OKG plate on it when it's sitting upside down. |
