The 1999 price list was published late April 1998: Link to "www.ebay.de" Though curiously, the initial brochure doesn't call it 'new' despite being a completely new, well, variant. Bux_48 ◊ 2025-09-01 22:31	I checked and in Italy the Polo Variant was introduced with the October 1997 price list (together with the new trims for the hatchback), so I think you're right, at least for export markets (I have no road tests to check the VIN). Maybe in Germany (or even Spain) it could have been introduced a little earlier?
