There is no difference between a Bentley S1 and an S2 from this view. The only thing you can say for sure is that it is not an S3. |

He's just a kid spurting out random years and model names which he probably finds on Google Images. Take no notice. |

The S Series 1 with the 4.9 litre straight six commenced production in 1955, and was listed, unchanged in outward appearance, until late 1959. At this point the engine, which had design features going back to the 1920s, was replaced by a modern 6.2 litre V8. Again there was no change in external appearance, but the cars were referred to as Series 2. The first change in appearance that could be noticed by the casual, or uninformed, observer was the Series 3 with its twin headlights and lower bonnet line, introduced late in 1962. It may be a Standard Steel Saloon, but from the pictorial evidence you cannot say, and since I so very rarely watch films, I am unfamiliar with other images of this car. There may be another reference elsewhere quoting a date for the vehicle, but from this picture, it could be any year from late 55 to 62. -- Last edit: 2018-01-19 00:04:52 |
