I did, however, find plenty of US spec Montero Sports by searching on Pilipino websites. Changing to a US spec and without a drivetrain confirmation -> [K80/90].

While it was sold in the Philippines very late, with it being first introduced in the country in 2005, it wasn't that much of a best-seller since at the time in the early 2000s, the market was much more interested in AUVs (Toyota Revo, Mitsubishi Adventure, Isuzu Hi-Lander) and compact crossovers (Honda CR-V, Ford Escape, Toyota RAV4, you name it), and body-on-frame SUVs positioned below full-size SUVs haven't taken off yet up until Toyota's Fortuner and the second generation Montero Sport were introduced towards the middle and end of the decade, in which ever since then, has been part of the sales charts. Another downside of it was not having a third-row seating compartment too. And up until today, half the listings of the first-generation Montero Sport on Facebook Marketplace here are USDM-spec. Yup, sold here as the Montero Sport.
