dhill, can you at least change the 1984-85 Dart Ks to just Darts? I can't seem to get through to anyone even though the evidence is painstakingly obvious. Even a mass change appeal on the forum brought about nothing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ByLOa2Bvg2A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B42wVIvyNuo https://live.staticflickr.com/5618/30217655756_8bbe6641b6_b.jpg https://www.flickr.com/photos/ifhp97/4669737150 https://storm.oldcarmanualproject.com/chryslervolare1985.htm They're probably skeptical because in America, the letter on the brochure varied by year whereas in Mexico the extra K was not used beyond 1983. https://www.ebay.com/itm/234931541380 https://www.ebay.com/itm/164170298393 https://www.ebay.at/itm/374179788229 https://www.ebay.com/itm/204182933825 https://www.ebay.com/itm/234751101121 https://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/dodge/87dak/87dak.html https://www.ebay.com/itm/234740781495 https://www.ebay.com/itm/370639589751 I've been reasonably patient with this issue but I don't understand why other Mexican spec changes, like for Seat or Ford, only take a few hours, yet Chrysler - specifically Chrysler - changes always get stuck in limbo. I've provided heaps of contemporary resource material time and time again proving the opposite, printed ads, commercials and the like, yet all I get as an answer is basically "this uncited single sentence of an American webpage says otherwise." Either that or people don't want to believe that a car lasted or was delayed an extra year in Mexico, i.e. the predecessor of this car, which was still 82 in Mexico complete with plate, graphics at the end, and year read out loud: https://www.tiktok.com/@erick_ortizf/video/7436410096537636152 It's like Cuzco's poison! -- Last edit: 2025-06-03 19:01:43 |

I was just waiting for additional comments from other people, just in case, then I just forgot. You could also just remind me on that thread in such case ![]() There is no reason for him to change them one by one manually. -- Last edit: 2025-06-03 21:30:30 |

The changes usually set in when I check back after a few days, but here it seemed to have gone nowhere ![]() dhill is usually the one who confirms such overseas changes, and as we have no current Mexican users on the site, the European admins rather had their hands tied and night cub wouldn't believe me... -- Last edit: 2025-06-03 22:11:37 |

I normally jump into such changes but haven’t had time to look at Mexico’s market. Might test out the wayback machine but that wouldn’t help from the 80’s. I don’t know if removing K all together is the right move? It will keep these lumped together. Maybe put it in the chassis code? Would they still pull together? |

Yes, my idea was also if someone is really keen on keeping the K we can put it to extra info for 84/85. |

Well some other changes have less impact. Though that it is not a so big deal of course. But what about the cars without year? Should them be treated like first year by default (with K) ? In such case, we could also set the year on these? -- Last edit: 2025-06-04 07:16:04 |

Yes, without year should be with K as that is the name it was introduced with (though the year should be pretty easy to discern, 83 plain grille, 84 has a pentastar in the middle, 85 new headlights and grille. -- Last edit: 2025-06-04 13:40:57 |

Those without year don't show their grille ![]() edit: updated 1984+ MEX models -- Last edit: 2025-06-04 15:33:28 |

But there is another unrelated model also name Dodge Dart for the same years? e.g. : /vehicle_708352-Dodge-Dart-1984.html It is a little messy now. Don't we have a chassis code to put to sort them out? edit: I'll put a "K" in the chassis code in the meantime -- Last edit: 2025-06-05 13:13:59 |
