The 2CV that came out the same year had a crank start - all the way to the end 51 years later. |

Most British things had a hole in the front bumper for a starting handle as a back-up system until the mid-60s, unless it was something like an Imp where the hole was in the rear bumper. My dad used to tell me how to hold the handle when crank-starting as if you held it the wrong way, the kickback could break your thumb. |
