 :think: I'm starting to get some very very dark memories in the brain's backyard about this movie... Is there a scene, where the father throws out the little puppet, which was hanging at the mirror, out of the car, and the mother yelled afterwards, because there were 200 or 300 $ hidden in it?

 jealous mother threw the puppet outside the window, as she thought, that it is a reminder of some girl, that father met on his ways across europe with a trailer and there was 100 dollars in it :)

But I cannot say, when I've seen this movie and neither, if it was aired by a West German or a DDR-TV-station... For sure over 20 years ago.

 @ingo: The IMDB says it was a co-production between the Barrandov film studio (Prague), WDR and Bayerischer Rundfunk.

 Then rather Western TV. Despite the fact, that Western TV-stations were involved, the DDR had no money for buying new import-movies (music neither). So Western productions were aired there always some years later. Surely only hand-picked stuff without political content. So the Hitler-parody here /movie_61728-Le-grand-restaurant.html was cutted out.

And usually imported movies were dubbed extra by the DEFA. Well done at the Danish "Olsen-Banden"-movies, better as the West German versions. A real reason, why they were much more known and popular in the DDR than here, where they were nearly unknown.
