On the other side of the street, is the building, over the underground station Gare du Luxembourg ,where I lived for 17 years. Period of the former Ligne de Sceaux before the interconnexion with RER (as B line). At this time, this station was still a terminus station. One can see in several of those pictures and in this one too, that start work on drilling tunnel for interconnexion to the Seine and Chatelet-Les Halles had begun at this time (1973 around). The interconnexion will be on service in 1977. Here is another picture of the building just after the events of May 1968. It had been "hot in the area ! I wasn't living there yet, my family moved in later in 1970.
