I see 1980/81 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia camper aside from the subject vehicle. |

At least a 1986 model as it has a third brake light. |

Last week I had an early Westfalia Joker in front of me. This made me think about the irritation variety of the badges of the T3's, expecially the Camper-versions (also here mainly made by Westfalia). The early T3 Joker had a badge "CAMPING" or "CAMPING D" for the Diesel-version - but no badge "CAMPER". These badges were in the VW-style and font of the 70ies (first was the 1966 VW 1200, the last the 1983 Golf I GTI). Later on this Camper had a "JOKER"-badge, in the 1980ies VW-style (first was the 1980 Passat [Typ32B]). But there were also original Westfalia's with a badge "BUS" (this I've only seen in the old style). And some people have chosen the US-badge "VANAGON" (maybe possible to order it directly with the new car). Later Camper-T3 were also to see with a "MULTIVAN"-sign... And: the earliest T3 from 1979/80 had also flat aluminium-stickers as badges, not the clipsed pastic parts. These sticker-badges I only can remember for Transporter (mainly Pick Up and DoKa) - but also some "CAMPING"-badges. |
