Wasn't it just called Meteor? Just bounced into one the other day: /vehicle_255317-Meteor-Rideau-1957.html |

Yes, Meteor was the make in 1957 (not Mercury). Cf the 6 letters on the bonnet. I don't know if and how it is possible to distinguish between Niagara, Niagara 300, Rideau and Rideau 500... -- Last edit: 2009-11-08 22:44:07 |

As judged by the side trim consisting of 2 chrome strips starting at the front of the front fender, it is a Canadian 1957 Meteor Rideau 500. Standard Meteor Rideaus had a chrome strip that started more backwards on the front wheel opening and Meteor Niagaras had simpler side trims similar to US Ford Customs. The wheelbase was 2 inches longer ( 118\") on the Rideaus than on the Niagaras ( 116\") |
