1930 LaSalle Series 340 Fleetwood Fleetway All Weather Phaeton is what Cadillac called this model - actually a convertible sedan. I think the big car in the background is a circa 1923 Hudson. |

In the 1968 Star Trek episode "A Piece of the Action", Kirk and Spock are riding in a car very similar to this one, especially having a heron or other long-necked bird with wings extended vertically, identical to the one on this car. The Internet claims this is a 1931 Cadillac V-12. Ironically, the Enterprise crew are attempting to get several rival criminal gangs, modeling their behavior on a book about gangs in Chicago in the 1930s that was left behind by a previous Federation starship, to cooperate. |
