The person who made up '6000' should get a marketing refreshment course. Or is there something behind that type? |

Well, they had a Pontiac 1000 based on Chevy Chevette and Pontiac 2000 based on Chevy Cavalier so they might have been working on a theme at one time. -- Last edit: 2009-04-27 21:58:29 |

All Pontiacs of the mid-80s got "thousand" names: T-1000 (Chevette) J-2000 (Cavalier) 6000 (Celebrity) |

The Buick Century in this picture is a "sibling" of the 6000, correct? |

Correct... along with the Celebrity and Cutlass Ciera/Cruiser. Pontiac used these "thousand" names as they sounded more European, which was Pontiac's target in the 80's. |

Since it is a wagon the Safari name should be added. Also, this model doesn't appear to have composite headlights so that would make it a 1984-1986. |
