This is a indeed a VW Golf I - assembled by TAS. TAS = Tvornica Automobila Sarajevo = Volkswagen's jointly operated plant in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Hercegovina. They produced/assembled a number of VW models to get around higher import tolls for the markets of former Yugoslavia and the countries existing there later. |
