humungus ◊ 2026-07-18 11:25	The nuthouse of Bristol asserts this movie was, at least in part, made as a response to Hollywood's fabrications in U-571. I don't know if I should laugh or cry at that assertion because this movie's drive for historical accuracy was such they didn't even film at the real Bletchley Park. I might have enjoyed the movie better if it had been sold to me as a fictional WWII-era spy yarn (which is what it is; the Enigma angle is largely an overgrown mcguffin) and if it had more of Jeremy Northam (he looks like he thought he was making a comedy) and fewer (or better yet, no) flashbacks. Anyway, upgraded to HD so that now there are no more ridiculous crops and composites. There is some distressing content in two of the new uncropped pics.
